Anthroposcenic

We live in the anthropocene era. That means humans have had a tremendous effect, changed, the true matter of the planet. Plastic has merged with sand and formed new rocks.  The  composition of the air has dramatically changed, as has the water in the oceans. The tiny micro plastic particles are in the air we breathe, the water we drink, in animals and plants, in us. In this installation that effect is leading. We can not see this intens deep change, the mutating in organic systems and natural matter, that is happening. In the materials chosen for this installation, the organic, natural materials are combined with synthetics and plastics, the have merged, are combined in a dense way. But it is hard to see what is what, like we cannot see it in forests, oceans and in living organisms with the human eye. What comes from that? What remnants will be there after the anthropocene? What is really happening if we see organic things deteriorate? Like leaves falling apart, or whilting flowers, when they are infected with the manmade synthetic? The parts of the installation reflect on these possible processes in the anthropocene time. For sale as installation, or pieces seperately. Photography: Yuta Sawamura.
