Onderlinge Verbondenheid (Mutual Connection ) Bibliotheek Rijn & Venen

In December 2020 this project will be launched. In 1,5 years in more locations of the library textile art will arise. Starting in the main library in Alphen aan de Rijn this community art project will engage people from the municipalities. By collecting their textilewaste, discarded clothes, Femke will design a giant piece made from these items. Than in workshops particiapnts will create parts for this giant artwork that will have the shape of a nest. Femke is inspired by natural growth of plants and organic shapes as seen in nature, and that will be reflected in this nest. Later smaller works will be created in the same style and cooperational way including the inhabitants in the creation proces of Hazerswoude Dorp, Hazerswoude Rijndijk and Boskoop. There ‘seedlings: of the big artpiece of the main libray, will “grow” in the local libraries. Next to a feelijng of connection among each other and with the library, this project will grow a connection with art, culture and sustainability in a accessible way for the municipalties.
