Dreaming

I got a large bag with leftovers from the Amsterdam Museum for the project Salon Kant (Salon Lace). All pieces were white and tiny pieces, very old or more recent from the restoration atelier of the museum. Dreaming is what happened when I washed, dried and selected the lace pieces. Associations came up varying from 17th century portraits to the seductive ladies in black lace in magazines and musicvideos, and all the cultural meanings that accompany these images. This resulted in an installation with five different layers of the lace in various techniques dipped in black dye.
The installation Dreaming has been shown in Amsterdam, In the Salon Dashilar exhibition during the Beijing Design Week and in Istanbul Salon Dantel exhibition.
